Privacy Policy

We collect the following when you use RoadReady:

• Account information: Your name, email address, and phone number when you register.
• Google account information: If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and Google account ID.
• Payment information: Your MoMo phone number when you purchase a plan. We do not store full payment card numbers.
• Usage data: Your test results, practice sessions, and progress within the app.
• Device information: Push notification token (Expo push token) to send you study reminders.
• IP address: Logged for security and fraud prevention purposes.

• To create and manage your account.
• To provide access to practice questions, mock exams, and road signs.
• To process payments via MTN Mobile Money (MoMo).
• To send transactional emails (welcome, payment confirmation, password reset).
• To send push notifications such as daily study reminders (only if you enable them).
• To improve the app through anonymized usage analytics.
• To detect and prevent fraud or unauthorized access.

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited cases:

• MTN Mobile Money: Your payment phone number is shared with MoMo to process transactions.
• Google OAuth: We use Google Sign-In. Google's privacy policy governs their data handling.
• Expo (push notifications): Your push token is sent to Expo's push notification service to deliver reminders.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by Rwandan law or a valid legal process.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records).

Push notifications (study reminders) are optional. You can enable or disable them at any time from your profile settings inside the app. If you disable notifications, we will stop sending push messages to your device.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted passwords (bcrypt), HTTPS for all data in transit, and HTTP-only authentication cookies. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions to protect your information.

RoadReady is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Opt out of push notifications at any time via app settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Effective date” above. Continued use of RoadReady after changes means you accept the updated policy.
